But jealousy is a fire that burns the heart. Yusuf’s brothers, already envious of their father’s love for him, conspired against him. They plotted to get rid of him so they could have their father’s affection to themselves. With deceitful words, they convinced Yaqub to let Yusuf join them, and in a cruel act, they threw him into a dark well.

From the Well to Slavery

A caravan passed by and found the boy in the well. They sold him as a slave in Egypt. Imagine the pain of being torn away from home, betrayed by his own blood, and sold like a possession.
